If the mailbox was limited to webmail only access prior to subscribing then my expectation is that the system is waiting on payment to hit your account before it triggers a return to full access. That's what happens when broadband service is restricted.
When do you anticipate the first payment to be taken? You'll normally get an email notification.

At the moment, I can only access my Tiscali emails via the website. So do I need to wait until the first payment is taken before I can access the account on Gmail etc?

I've just found your post from 2 days ago. I guess you only just verified your email sign in for Community?
Anyway, I've merged your posts into a single topic as it's the same issue.
Your Direct Debit (DD) has only just been applied for so the banking system that takes 10 days or so to set up a DD will not have taken the first subscription payment.
Was the tiscali email address restricted to webmail only access prior to you applying for MailPlus? When you're a paid up subscriber the billing system will take the restriction off to allow full access across your email clients.

Feels like the tiscali mailbox is restricted to webmail only access. This will be the case if there's something amiss with the MailPlus subscription. Has the first payment been taken?
I'll alert TalkTalk Support and they'll look at your account to identify and fix the issue.

I've been using a Tiscali email account for several years, but Talktalk have now decided to start charging to keep this account open. So I signed up yesterday to the service, but now when I open my account on Gmail, it keeps asking me for "credentials" for my email address. I've tried entering the details I set up with Talktalk, but it keeps telling me the password is wrong.
Can anyone suggest how I can connect to my account?
