Hi there, thank you for the reply, I have not changed my password for over a year, and yes, I have tried ticking the box, unfortunately to no avail.
It is annoying when this request intermittently appears as it interferers with other stuff runiing on the PC.
I have several talktalk email addresses, all different passwords, happens with all of them.

I've just been advised that the service should be back up and running normally. Please retest and let me know how you get on.

Hi all, an incident has been raised for this. You should see the service status change shortly. I know the engineers are working on this now.

In some versions of Outlook, this also happens for any failure to connect to the server, even those not at all related to password.
As of now, both mail.talktalk.net and pop.tiscali.co.uk seem to be not responding to normal connection attempts.

As the error message goes away when TalkTalk fix their problem, if you are sure you haven't touched the password, then just wait and it will connect OK.
