The error message is indicating that the email password for the added email account is incorrect.

Either go to Accounts, select Edit for the account needing updating, enter its current password and select Save. If all is ok, the error message will disappear and you'll see a confirmation pop up.

Or go to my first reply to you, follow the guide to delete an added email account and then follow the guide to add an email account entering its address and current password.

Remember that if you wish to see all emails in the one Inbox you'll go to Accounts and select Unified account for this email address.

Hi silverwill

You can if you wish use unified mail for the added email accounts. Then you'll see your added account emails in the usual Inbox.

Go to the account settings (Main menu > Settings > Accounts) and select the tick box for unified mail for each account and select the Save button for each one.

Alternatively, you need to select the inward facing arrowhead, preceeding the added account in the Folder view side panel, to expand to show the folders for the added account. Unread messages in the Inbox of that account will be indicated by a number. Just select the Inbox to view those messages.

Hi Gondola,

I already have my 2 additional email addresses onto my main address, but for some reason I never get any emails from the additional 2 email addresses unless I go to each individually ?

Thanks for your help

Will

Hi Will

The benefit is being able to view mail messages from multiple email accounts via a single TalkTalk Mail sign in.  Very useful and easy to set up.

Add an email account to TalkTalk Mail:

Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail

Enter your primary talktalk.net email address and password, select Sign in.

Automatic setup

In the left pane below the folders you'll see a link Add email account.

  • Select Add email account
    A window will appear
  • Enter your secondary email address and password
  • Select Add

Unified email.png

Does your secondary email account get added ok?

If that's good, when using webmail you'll just sign in to the primary talktalk.net mailbox and you'll see both accounts via the one sign in.  You can also send mail from either account when composing mail messages.

Doesn't stop you signing in to each account individually.  Just sign out of your primary account first.

Manual setup

If the auto-configuration fails and you got a window asking if you wish to ignore warnings about not having a secure connection, and then continue, you get the manual setup

For the manual setup here's an example using any TalkTalk Consumer Mail domain:

  • Email address: your full email address

INCOMING SERVER

  • Server name: mail.talktalk.net
  • Connection security: SSL/TLS
  • Server port: 993
  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: the email password

OUTGOING SERVER

  • Server name: smtp.talktalk.net
  • Connection security: STARTTLS
  • Server port: 587
  • Authentication: use separate username and password
  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: the email password

Delete email account from TalkTalk Mail

To remove an added email account:

  • Select the Main Settings menu icon      triple lines, top right header bar
(Mobile browser? Main Settings menu is via the cog icon)
  • Select the Settings menu item
  • Select Accounts in the left side bar
  • Select the Delete (dustbin icon) to the right of the account to be removed
The icon background will turn red and a window will pop up
    Confirm the deletion
