Broadband dropping

Hi All,

I have been experiencing the internet dropping for the last 3-4 months now.  I've had a new router,TalkTalk Tv box but nothing has fixed it.  The line has been tested and no issues found....

This effects some wifi attached items and the TV box which is hard wired through the special plugs.

Up until this started we had no issues.  The people on the phone although efficient in sending out new boxes haven't found the problem.

Any help would be great (before I cancel and throw the whole lot in the bin)

Thanks

Darren

I have asked one of TalkTalk's OCEs to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & limited cover on Bank Holidays). Alternatively, you can call the call centre or use online chat. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

Personal Profile > Personal Information

Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

Hi Darren

I'm sorry to hear this.

Can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name
  • Telephone number
  • Alternative contact number

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Thanks

Hi,

I've updated all my details now.

I recieved a new router and talk talk box before Xmas and was hoping this would resolve the issues.

The issues are now worse than ever, the laptop keeps dropping of the internet and Netflix though the box just keeps randomly shutting down.

Some help would be greeatly appreciated.

Darren

Hi Darren,

I'm sorry to hear this and I'll take a look now. I've run a test on the line which hasn't detected a fault and I can only see 1 recent re-connection on the line. Just to confirm does this affect wired devices too or just the wireless connection?

Thanks

Hi Michelle,

The Talk Talk box is connected to the router through the house wiring and some of those fancy plugs, so is hard wired.  The Talk Talk box is the worst although I guess the most obvious.  Netflix barely lasts for a minute these days.

Thanks

Darren

Hi Darren,

I've re-run the line test which is still clear and I can't see any re-connections on the line. Is it only the TV box which is losing the connection? Are other devices connected to the line stable?

Thanks
