Can't connection and can't log into router after powercut

Hi, we had the power trip off in the night. Since then I've had no connection. I also can't log into the router via 192.168.1.1

 

Things tried so far:

  • Power off and on..
  • Pressing the small reset button
  • Turning devices off and on
  • Waiting patiently
  •  
  • Repeat all the above 

The router flashes amber/white for a while the solid amber..

 

Line test says 

We couldn't find any problems on your line
 

 

I struggled to get connected to the router via WiFi for a while but can now but get page not available on trying to log into it.

 

Secondary issue but related. I've been using my old Plusnet router as a WiFi extender with the talk talk one handling IP addresses. I can't obtain an IP and log into that..

 

Any ideas?

Just tried connecting via the ethernet and laptop. No luck

 

I think the router is dead 😞

I'm sorry to hear this and I'll take a look now. I've run a test on the line which hasn't detected a fault. Would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes?

It seems to be, it's not had a phone attached to it in years but I've tried one and made an out going call just fine. Incoming as well. No background noise

Well, we had a working connection for a few days.... It's back down again. 

 

My network storage device said it went down over night for a short time and it's just gone down again but not returned this time...

Hi, I'm fixed. Open reach came out and replaced the socket and traced the issue to an incorrect phone number being registered to my mine. Not sure what that was about, especially when I could ring in on the correct number.. They played with the Comms cabinet and all has been ok since
