Hello I am stuck in a bit of an issue where my in game speed is terrible in FIFA and both EA and Talk Talk seem to say its the others fault. 

 

I have done everything possible and EA made me run a trace route to their server and said the ISP is not routing it correctly and hence this causes the delay. Do I believe them, not really but is there anyway to change this?

 

I have wired connection, open ports etc etc all the normal stuff below is my trace results, missing my IP address. As you can see there are several unknown with a high Ping time, any idea anyone its doing my head in. Only thing left is to leave Talk Talk and try another provider but would rather not but if its only thing left to try I will have to.

You do not need to open any ports, but in the past, people have had issues with this particular game. I have asked one of TalkTalk's OCEs to pick your thread up and pass this over to their networks team for investigation.


The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & limited cover on Bank Holidays). Alternatively, you can call the call centre or use online chat. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

Personal Profile > Personal Information

Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

Hi Mackam,

 

Could you switch your router off and leave it off for 30 minutes then switch back on and run another traceroute to the game server and a traceroute to www.google.co.uk, please post the results

Well EA are saying that because of the multiple hops and unknown hosts with high ping this is my issue. I attached another which I just played on this server and it was terrible, see below.

I am stuck in middle of EA saying its my ISP and my ISP saying its EA. Only thing I can change is ISP as there is no way I can change the game server, but wanted to give it chance to resolve before switching ISP.

Just a thought but could you try switching your router off for 30 minutes then switch back on and retest. This will start a new session, I think it's worth a try.

Already tried this see above OCE_Chris asked for it and I have.

 

I did another for the bants, terrible and exceeding max hops. At least I am sure it is the ISP end now and not EA as I wasnt convinced before.

What router are you using?, 

 

We cant see it do you have TR069 turned off, if so you may not have the latest firmware.

I am using a gaming router, sorry for my ignorance but why is this relevant? 

 

The issue I have is a routing of traffic issue which happens after my router. Internally my internet speed is fine its just the fact that Talk Talk is routing my data to EA via lots of different hops which increase the Ping time and hence gaming performance. 

 

I did try the Talk Talk router but it was exactly the same as I would have expected. 

 

Has anyone looked at why my data is being routed in such a way?
