Hi PetWolf

Apologies for this.

I can send a replacement HG633 router for testing, would you like me to arrange this?

Thanks

Debbie

Hi

I was asked by @OCE_Chris to leave my router connected to the test socket over the weekend and then bump this thread.

Hi PetWolf

I've checked the connection stats and your line is in sync at 38.6mb, the sync speed hasn't increased.

I think we should send the HG633 router for testing, would you like me to arrange this?

Thanks

Debbie

yes please

Community Team

Hi PetWolf

The HG633 router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Hi

I have installed new router.

I know I've only just connected it but

Line/sync speed is still slower than expected.

Hi PetWolf,

Thanks for the update. It can take between 24-48hrs for DLM to start making changes to the sync speed if the connection remains stable. Could you bump your thread on Thursday and we can re-check the connection stats again to see if DLM has made any changes to the speed.

Thanks

I've had the Speed Boost for 12 days now and I'm seeing lower speeds than before and for this privilege I'm paying extra.
Now I have to wait again so it'll be 14 days, half a month until any next steps are made. These will probably lead to another set of waiting periods...

Hi PetWolf,

Is the router also still connected at the test socket? Once we've confirmed this then we can ask our Network Team to take a look at the speed.

Thanks

Yes the new router is connected to the test socket.
But don't we need time for DLM to work?

Currently the router reports;
Downstream line rate (kbit/s) 34030
Maximum downstream rate (kbit/s) 60272
And uptime 22 hours 20 minutes

Thanks for your help with this issue. I realise that it takes time for things to happen, DLM, postal system, communication etc. It's just frustrating. The expectation is that it will work straight away but that is not how the technology works.

Community Team

Hi PetWolf,

Ok, if DLM has not made any improvements to the sync speed by tomorrow then we'll pass this over to our Network Team for investigation. Unfortunately we don't have any control over DLM for a fibre connection so we can't reset this ourselves.

Are you also using the cables and microfilter that came with the replacement router?

Thanks

Yes, using all cables from new router into test socket.

The modem cable doesn't look very good quality interference wise but looks similar to D-link cable.

Worth noting but not really gonna effect internet access the modems supplied only have 100mb LAN ports.
Which restricts wired devices communicating with each other

Hi PetWolf,

I've passed this to our network team for further investigation. Can you bump the thread tomorrow and we'll check for updates

Thanks

Not heard anything else.

The new router has been up for over 6 days now.
Line readings are the same and showing zero errors.
Still only shows download rate at 34020 kbits

Hi PetWolf,

I'm chasing this up with our network team. If you don't hear anything later today can you bump the thread again tomorrow and we'll check for updates

Thanks
Chris

Hi PetWolf,

The next step will be to arrange an engineer visit to investigate further, to do this can you confirm:

  • That you accept potential Engineers charges
  • Provide availability, either AM (8am to 1pm) or PM (1pm to 6pm) between Monday to Friday.

I've PM you to confirm some other details

Thanks

Chris

OK.

After almost 2 weeks the Line Quality has changed

Downstream line rate is now about 5mb higher but still lower than expected.

It seems DLM has started again it may be higher tomorrow (hopefully).

Line Quality

Upstream line rate (kbit/s): 8633

Downstream line rate (kbit/s): 39579

Maximum upstream rate (kbit/s): 8698

Maximum downstream rate (kbit/s): 59920

DSL up-time: 0 days 17 hours 47 minutes 18 seconds

I have an engineer coming on Tues

Community Team

Hi PetWolf,

Ok thanks for the update and please let us know how the connection compares.

Thanks
