Faster Fibre flashing orange frequently.



I only joined in June. Recently, about once a week, for several hours, doesn't matter what I do, the hub will flash orange and I won't be able to connect. A few hours later (ie: by the morning), it'll just be working again. Tends to happen in the evening. Never used to happen with Sky/BT. When it does happen, I check cables, restart the router (disconnecting and off for 20min), but to no avail. Checked the line connection via the website - no luck.

If you have a landline phone can you check to see if that is working normally (i.e. you have a clear dial tone and no noise on the line).


If your master phone socket has a test socket then you could also try the router in there, that would then eliminate any of the phone wiring in your home as being a possible cause of the problem.

I have the same issue.

Today (Sunday) no internet and router flashing orange. It started on Wednesday morning, when the connection cut out. Thursday was ok but intermittent problems. Friday fine. No dial tone on phone, no connection on broadband and I have to rely on my mobile for internet.


*I tried switching off the router for 20 minutes or more. This did not solve connection issues.

*I tried removing the faceplate and connecting to the test socket. This did not solve connection issues.

*I tried checking the network status on this website, which is apparently fine. This did not solve connection issues.


Last time I had a problem, the talktalk customer support staff eventually booked an appointment with an openreach engineer who diagnosed and fixed the problem very quickly. Now it seems to be impossible to even contact talktalk customer support?
