Fibre Broadband set up question

Currently there is an offer to switch to Fibre Broadband.  Does this mean there will be a fibre link from the box up the road to my house and then in the house to the router?  In my case that would mean engineers going up a pole (at least - might mean some digging too - not sure) as I'm copper from the box up the road at the moment.

Thanks

Hi

If fibre is available in your area, this will be fibre to the cabinet but will still be copper from the cabinet to the house.

Thanks

Karl.

Thanks Karl.

Just wondering where the faster broadband speed comes from then as I think the length of copper is the limiting factor? Promotional Faster Fibre speed is 35 Mb/sec I think. Usually I'm in a few Mb/sec territory. What changes to achieve the new speed?

Thanks

Hi

It does depend on the distance from the cabinet,  I'm about 500 metres from the cabinet in my street and get about 65mb, but all lines are different.

Thanks
