Firmware update request - WiFi hub

I’ve been sent the Wi-Fi hub to replace my old TalkTalk router (very generous) but urgently need the firmware updating to fix the bugs/limitations bundled in with SG4K10001400t. I’ve only plugged it in today and know it should check for updates automatically but have found far too many users requesting forced updates after waiting days for the router to do it. It would be great if it checked for updates the first time it boots up, or there were a ‘Check for updates’ button in the advanced section of the dashboard.
