For some time the news & media has highlighted security concerns with Huawei equipment.
Does anyone know if any studies have been undertaken on the Huawei routers supplied by TalkTalk? I have the TalkTalk Super Router HG635, made by Huawei and in the past have seen it flashing away to itself when I know that nothing is connected and I know from where I live, it's extremely unlikely that anyone is trying to wirelessly hack the unit, so any thought anyone?
Is it any coincidence that the firmware has just been updated to v1.14t?

Likely to happen April 1st sometime this century.
Though I'd still like to know what caused the occasional bursts of activity that the router would exhibit in the middle of the night. Even turning the router off would only postpone the activity until the router had reconnected to the phone line.
As an aside, so far I've not seen it with the V1.14t firmware update the other month.
This could be any devices that are connected being updated. The devices will still stay in communication with the router. Wireless can also pick up wireless signals.
The router also keeps in touch with our server. Our DLM will also connect with the router to check for any issues.
