Hi Bossblue
I've checked the connection stats this morning and the sync speed has increased to 55.3mb.
The connection has also remained stable since 11/05.
Thanks
Debbie
Hello Debbie,
thanks for checking.
does this mean the speed will keep getting faster ?
thanks
Hi Bossblue
DLM is increasing the speed.
Would it be ok to keep the router in your current set up and we can check the connection stats again tomorrow?
Thanks
Debbie
Hi Bossblue
Thank you, I will check the connection stats again tomorrow.
Debbie 🙂
Hello,
just done speed test showing 41.4 down 12.8 up
at best I get 51 down, around 16 up
I thought speed was guaranteed to be around 61
i have read this on the forums and it does seem that a lot of people are disappointed in not getting the speeds they were told they would get
can you please advise
many thanks
Hi Bossblue
Your line is still showing in sync at 55.3mb.
Your speed test results are just under the guaranteed throughput speed. Are you running a wired or wireless speed test?
Thanks
Debbie
Hello Debbie,
Thanks for your reply
I am running both wired and wireless speed tests
The results I get are almost the same, I am still connected to the test socket
thanks
Hi Bossblue
Are there any other devices in use when running the speed test?
Please can you connect just one wired device and run a speed test using the TalkTalk speed tester so we can see the results?
Thanks
Debbie
Hello Debbie
test taken Tuesday 14 May 5.35 pm
just one item connected via Ethernet cable to router
15ms
51.7 mbps download
16.2 mbps upload
as I said before is always around this mark, be it wireless or direct wired connection
thankyou
Hi Bossblue
Thanks for your reply.
The throughput speed (speed test) of 51.7mb looks good based upon the line sync speed of 55.3mb
Throughput speed is always slightly less than the actual sync speed.
Thanks
Debbie
Hello Debbie,
i understood I would be getting around 61mbps download, so you can appreciate I am a little disappointed with the service
I see on the forum there are many people in my situation who have opted for the fibre speed boost and are not getting the speeds promised
is there an answer to this ?
thankyou
Hi
A Speed range is always given based on the estimate of your lines capability.
If the speed falls within that agreed estimate then we or Openreach would not deem the line to be at fault, As the sync speed is within the estimated range then the line is considered to be performing as it should.
Regards,
Karl.

Hello,
i renewed my contract on better terms yesterday
i was told that speed could be anything up to 71mbps
i ask, why is it I am only getting at best 50
i welcome your reply
thanks
Hi
The Speed range for your line is 49 - 78mb. This means that your sync speed can fall anywhere within this range. If the sync speed does fall within this range then no fault is evident.
Thanks
Karl.

Thanks
i have had lots of discussion on here regarding this and carried out all tests which were asked for
i did purchase a new huwaei modem from TalkTalk but have not installed yet
the agent seemed to think it would improve my speed
is this possible
thanks
Hi
Some routers with a different chipset may sync at a higher rate, but the difference would only be a couple of mb either way.
Thanks
Karl.

Hello,
i am now at seems to be max of 51 mbps download on a good day
i am disappointed, my sister lives 2 houses away and gets 63mbps download speed
i had new line installed by openreach from connection in the pavement so the line is new and all good.
i am also disappointed I bought a new router at cost of £25 your agent said it would be better but as you advise it probably will not so just sitting in the box, £25 wasted , I am on state pension
so TalkTalk why am I not getting speed as promised
YES it is faster but not as stated
please advise
thankyou
Hi Bossblue
Apologies for this.
Your current sync speed of 52mb is within the predicted range for your line, however the line test is detecting a possible fault.
Have you recently tested with an alternative router at the test socket? I can then raise this over to our Network Team for investigation.
Thanks
Debbie
Hello Debbie,
i will try with the new router I purchased from TalkTalk sometime soon
thanks
