My WiFi hub keeps having the channel changed overnight (it is not on auto setting) even though I regularly set it to 1 which is the most uncongested channel in my area (and doesn’t clash with our Sonos network). I have to log on to the router every day to change it back which is very frustrating.
I can see from other posts that this is to do with WiFi optimisation on my line. How can I get this turned off if that is necessary? And what else does that function do - I.e. what do we lose out on if we turn it off?
Yes, this is caused by WiFi Optimisation, assuming you have the Sagemcom version of WiFi Hub.
I have asked one of TalkTalk's OCEs to pick your thread up and discuss if you want WiFi optimisation turned off.
The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & limited cover on Bank Holidays). The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.
To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-
Personal Profile > Personal Information
Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

If all it does is switch the channel for us, then yes please turn that off.
if it does more than just channel switching, I’ll have to consider and weigh things up.
