Hi,

Having problems with my new router I’ve had for a month on the fastest fibre.

When trying to to use Instagram it struggles to load most posts. Very frustrating I have to turn onto 4G to make Instagram usable.

I’ve turned the router off and reset the settings to no avail.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Hi kieran,

I'm sorry to hear this. Does the post eventually load? Which router are you currently using? (make and model) Has this previously worked ok with this router?

Thanks

Hi,

It's your new Talk Talk router I only just signed up recently.

The post sometimes will load, sometimes it won't.

It's always been the same since I got the router so not really worked properly from getting it.

Thanks

Kieran

Hi Kieran,

Ok thanks for confirming this. Have you tried separating the SSID's?

Split your router's SSID (wireless network name)

Thanks

Hi Kieran,

Do you experience any issues with any other apps - are you able to stream music or video on your moible?

Do you experience the same Instagram issue on other devices while connect to your router?

Hi Chris,

Yes Facebook is sometimes slow to load stories which shouldn't be the case on 70mbps download when I do speed tests.

Yes it's the same on my girlfriends device same as mine.

I think it's a fully router.

Thanks

Does it make any difference how close the device is to the router? If the device is withing a few feet of the router, in the same room, do you still have the same problem?

Yeah, I can be in the room near the router or in a bedroom upstairs and it's the same.

Thanks

OK thanks. Do you have HomeSafe enabled? If you have then could you try switching it off and then back on again then retest

I have the HomeSafe turned off as I don't want it on.

Thanks

Just a couple more things to try-  could you try switching HomeSafe on and then back off again, and check to see if this makes any difference. If this makes no difference can you switch the router off for 30 minutes, (this will force a new session) then retest

Are you able to swap out my router?

I'm a new customer and shouldn't have to be doing all this to make my WiFi work like it should.

Thanks

Hi Keiran

We can certainly swap out your router but I think a new router is unlikely to resolve the issue, we really need to try both the above suggestions before sending a new router

ive tried both the above tonight and it’s still the same.

Hi kieranwright

Apologies for this.

It appears that a replacement router has already been ordered.

Please let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Debbie
