2.4ghz slow after Future Fibre installed

Hi

I had Future Fibre 150 installed last week after waiting 3 months for it!

I was getting almost 70Mbs on Fibre 65 on all my devices on 5ghz and about 50-60Mbs on 2.4ghz (bands separated, on least congested channels). I now hit almost 150Mbs on 5ghz but 2.4ghz has dropped to 20Mbs! I waited for a week to see if this changed, tried a router reset etc but no improvement.

I have not changed the router (the same Sagemcom one was used before and after Future Fibre), nor have I changed its location, channels or any other setting. No other devices or sources of interference have been added in my environment.

I'm not sure how to proceed to try to improve the 2.4ghz speed.

Please help! Many thanks for your time and input in advance.

Hi Supermansam

I've checked and wifi optimisation is off for your router.

I can find your router in our firmware tool by IP address but as you are on Future Fibre, we do not have access to see those details with our network systems. We may have in the future when trained, but for now, we cannot see any FTTP connections 😞

Thanks

Karl.

Hi JH1379

If you start your own thread (new message), wed love to help.

Weve found that posting in someone elses conversation makes it harder to follow when looking for an answer.

Its easier and quicker if we can chat with you in a single thread, if you start your own thread, that will keep our community organised and help others with a similar problem.

Check your home phone number or account number are also added to your Community Profile as that will really help us to find your details quicker.

Thanks

Karl

Thank you @Supermansam and @KeithFrench. We are having exactly the same problem and would like TalkTalk to disable the 'Wi-Fi Optimisation' on our Sagemcom Hub as soon as possible please. I have spent all weekend working on this and we really need to be able to work at 2.4GHz without the channel changing to the really crowded 1 6 and 11 channels without warning.  Having split the SSIDs, 5GHz is working beautifully, but the signal can't get past the brick wall between the router and our desktop PC.

Please could one of the Talk talk staff turn off my optimisation please?

Many thanks

Hi Sam,

Future Fibre is a different system to FTTC offerings such as Fibre 65, so yes you may have to request it be disabled or at least checked again.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for you reply.

I did already when I had the Fibre 65 and I was having problems with channel selection then.

I don't need to do it again for the same router being used with Future Fibre, do I?

Regards

Sam

Did you get TalkTalk to disable Wi-Fi Optimisation on your router?
