Asus DSL-AX82U

I am on Fibre 65 and currently use a Netgear D7000 which is getting a bit long in the tooth.

I am thinking of purchasing an Asus DSL-AX82U for its WiFi 6 capability and was just wondering if anyone was running one and any thoughts on the model?

Any replies will be gratefully received

Thanks for that info I tend to see a 20 to 30% drop in download whilst upload is stable.

Hi @Divsec  not a noticeable difference. I have only used it when I am out via the ASUS free Instant Guard app for iOS. It takes about 3 to 5 seconds to connect to the router but once it has found it I couldn’t see a discernible difference in speed

Hi @KeithRan great feedback, glad you tried it! I've used Asus kit with good results also Draytek. The vpn is a bonus do you find it slowing down your connection?

I will answer my own question, it works and I have a 15% increase in download speed with the Ookla test 😀 In addition it has a useful app that creates a VPN to pass data through your home network - useful for keeping traffic secure
