Been Suffering from Poor wifi for Years

Actually ever since we joined talk talk, we have had poor Wifi Coverage in the home.

At best mediocre in the next room and almost nothing upstairs or anywhere else.

We are still using the same Router that was supplied at least 7 years back, the HG633.

Works well with LAN cables ,  as with the PC, but  anything Wifi and you sit around waiting for things to happen.

Moved the router postion around over the years with no real improvement.

Just renewed my Contract  but still stuck with this Ancient router. 🙄

Even the black plastic is going grey 😅

Hi Chris

How are you getting on, have you received the router?

Hi Chris

The Sagemcom WIFI hub is on its way and a returns bag for your old router.

Please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive. Let us know how the connection compares.

Thanks

Morning,

I'm sorry for the delay. Would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes? We would also send a router returns bag so that one of the routers can be returned.

Thanks

I cannot tell without knowing the channel usage in your area, hence it could only ever be a guess at this time. I have asked TT to consider a replacement router, any contract issues you will have to take up with them.

Many thanks for the quick reply....

Not sure about interference ?,

Our house is well away from others and a wifi scan doesn't show any other  strong signals in the vincinity ?

just been reading the couple of contract docs sent to me by email.

I've Cut N pasted the top bit of one , ( contract info)..

Here..

1. Description of service: This plan has fibre broadband as well as a landline to make phone calls (includes free
TalkTalk to TalkTalk calls). A TalkTalk Wi-Fi router is included.

You have TV included. Your TalkTalk TV Box is included.

Price: Below shows the breakdown of your TalkTalk Package.
Fibre 65 Base plan £24.95
Total (Including any add-ons) £32.95

Nice if a router is included ??? ... but its not correct regarding the TV , as we don't have that 😁

The same text is repeated in the other doc ( the summary)

so a bit of a flakey document !.😅

Whilst this is probably not the router, but WiFi interference, due to the age of the router, I will see if TalkTalk will replace it for you.

If you still have problems after that, please let me know & I will help you with any WiFi issues that remain.
