Broadband is down. Router has been rebooted.

Yes the broadband is still up and running as is the phone line.

HI. It does appear, what ever the problem was this afternoon with the internet has now cleared. It could have coincided with the bad weather we had.
But all does appear to be working correctly with out doing anything to the router.
That's for the help.

So does your router just have one single light, and is that light looking 'normal', i.e. solid white ?.

If so, it would be worth switching the router off for over 30 minutes, then when you switch it back on it will create a new session in the street cabinet, this might help.

If you go to that service centre page from your mobile you will have to log into your TalkTalk account, it will then allow you to test your landline broadband connection.

Hi Thanks for the reply.
How am i able to run a live connection test, with no broadband ?
I can run a test from the mobile, but that would give false results.
The internet light is on for the router, but i have no connection to ebay, gmail or any other internet service.
I had to report this from my mobile.

Hi @smegson,

 

What light(s) are showing on the router ?

 

It would be worth going to the Service Centre to ‘Run a live connection test’ on your phone line, this will indicate if there is currently a fault on your line. You can also access this from the ‘My Account’ site.

 

Also, if you have a landline phone can you check to see if that is working normally (i.e. you have a clear dial tone and no noise on the line).

 

If your master phone socket has a test socket then you could also try the router in there, that would then eliminate any of the phone wiring in your home as being a possible cause of the problem.
