Talktalk have been very good and given me a new router now my broadband speed is very good. The only thing is I have no internet connection. This means I can not sign into the Microsoft store for one thing. When I try to connect to other web sites I get a message " you need a internet connection to use this site" can anyone help? I thought if I had a good broadband signal all would be well, what is going on?

Hi Teddyjeff

I'm sorry to hear this.

Is the device connected wired or wireless?

Thanks

My router has to be upstairs, as the mainline connection into my property is disconnected due

to wire failure (installed in 1972!). The problems appeared to start when I took up offer of fast fibre, which may not be relevant. An engineer visited on two occasions, and checked connections, but sdaly still have the same problem

Is your router up and running ok.  White light showing etc etc.

What system is not connecting. What OS is it running.

If it's a PC have you got wifi connection showing on bottom right of display area.

Have you tried ethernet connection to the router.

Do other systems connect to router ok.

Sounds like your pc has not connected to router correctly, thus giving that error

Open a dos window and ping 192.168.1.1.   If pc or laptop not connected to router it will fail
