OK thanks. If all else fails your the wifi hub should work fine with your current service but could you try speaking to eero support via your eero app, hopefully they'll be able to help with this issue

Could I just ask which router you previously had, prior to getting the eero?

Yes, works via the app always, just voice commands, it lights up when I say hey Google, then will only sometimes respond!

Does it always work via the app? Is it just the voice commands that don't work?

Yes, last night it worked to turn lights on but not off, had to use the app, then today they wouldn't turn on unless I used the app!

Hi VIckyfluff,

Is the home hub mini in exactly the same place as it was before you installed the eero?

Hi,

Thanks for confirming. Have you tried assigning the google home mini a static IP?

Thanks

hi Michelle, yes have tried all of that, the connectivity isn't an issue as it is connected to the WiFi, I can broadcast to it, just it won't answer any questions or do anything, it will tell me the time. When it's not connected it would say not connected to the Internet!,

Ah, I guess your linked account is not an Amazon account.  To activate the Smart Home Hub you need to link an Amazon account to the eero app.

OK, let's just for the moment work on the basis that the Google devices are connected to the eero but aren't seeing the Internet.

What I would try is switching off IPv6 in the eero app just in case the devices are trying to connect with IPv6 protocol.

  • Settings tab
  • Network Settings
  • IPv6 Off

The TalkTalk network doesn't yet support IPv6.

There's also the possibility that the Google devices expect to use the Google DNS.  The eero as supplied by TalkTalk has an eero Secure subscription that requires the eero to be locked to the TalkTalk DNS.  You can select the Google DNS but this means disabling all eero Secure protection features.

Zigbee Smart Home Hub

  • Select the Discover tab on the eero app
  • Select Amazon Connected Home
  • Select Smart Home Hub
  • Select the i icon at the top to the right of Smart Home Hub
  • Then select the blue panel 'Discover Zigbee devices'

Hi,

Can't see anything about Zigbee in the app? Whats odd is they are both connected, will the reset fix it? I have powered them off and also reset the eero.
