I read that it's best, for speed, to keep the wifi turned on 24hrs a day.
But we like to have it on a timer so that it's not going while we're sleeping.
Does anyone know if, after it turns back on, it gets back up to optimum speed after a period of time [say, 2 hrs] - or whether it doesn't get back to optimum at all if we continue to use this procedure.

It's best to leave it on 24/7, it hardly uses any power, also it stops the thermal shock of being switched on and off.
Turning it off once a day is unlikely to confuse the line management system, so should not affect your speeds.
