Fiber speed boost not working

Message 38 of 38

Hi, I renewed my package on 29th Jan and noticed my speed boost wasn't included. Anyway after lots of calls to customer 'services' and an engineer visit it was finally decided that they hadn't enabled the boost. It should of been enabled on 8th March & I can see speed boost mentioned in my account now but im not seeing a real increase in speed over last package (38Mb).

My line speed on the router is now showing 50Mb down & 17Mb up. On the talk talk  speed test im getting 45M down &12M up ish. (over Ethernet) Ive done the 30+ minutes router switch off twice now and would like to see more speed, shouldn't the link speed be around 80Mb?

Anyway looking for some help now.

Cheers

Mark.

Unfortunately as stated above, we can't arrange engineer visits for speed issues at the moment due to the lock down, apologies for any inconvenience.

There was no confusion.

Arrange an engineer visit for me please.

Hi Mark,

Apologies for the confusion, at the moment we are only arranging appointed engineer visits for total loss of service faults at the moment.

We can raise this for an engineer visit once the lock down is over and we have more engineer availability to the property.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately we can't arrange engineer visits for speed faults at the moment as we are only arranging home visits for total loss of service faults for vulnerable customers. We can raise this for an engineer visit once the lock down is over and we have more engineer availability to the property.

Thanks

Hi Whybother,

Thanks for trying this and I'm sorry to hear that there has been no further improvement in speed. As the speed is within the predicted range for the line then an engineer may not be able to increase this any further. Are you experiencing any issues with the overall performance of the connection?

If the line was syncing slightly better with the previous router then it would be worth swapping this back over again.

Thanks

New router test, still only the router plugged into the master socket, no house wiring involved.

Speed test 40.2Mb, 10Mb

Router link speed 49Mb, 18Mb

So its worse than before.

Thanks
