I recently renewed my contract for another 18 months, this time with the Fibre Speed Boost.
At first there was hardly any increase in speed, so I did what was recommended and powered off the modem/router for at least 30 mins. Since then (5 days ago) the download speed has increased from roughly 38Mbps to about 47Mbs. Not exactly a massive improvement, I think you'll agree.
I was promised a minimum of 54Mbps.
The question is, will the speed improve over time or is there a problem?
By the way, I am using the BT Openreach fibre modem that was installed when I started using fibre back in 2014. Could that be causing the reduced speed?
Thanks for any help.

@ferguson The OP has had his case escalated to BTOR. During a visit from an BTOR engineer One of the ways they might bring the speed up to expected is by replacing the Main socket. True? Yes? Thanks...

Hey, so if the BTOR engineer judges that the master socket needs to be replaced because it is faulty then yes, if you had said that in the first place there wouldn't be an argument, just saying that your initial comment was far from clear. Yes? Thanks ...

I repeat, if you had made it clear that this is an option that the OR engineer can look at then it would have been accurate. Instead you simply suggested that "...If you are able to replace your Mk2 BT Main Socket with a Mk4 type..." You then went on to make claims about improvements in performance which are unsupportable.
If you are indeed an OR engineer then it is highly irresponsible of you to prejudge the situation based on a forum post. I would imagine that only the engineer on the ground can make the appropriate decision based in conjunction with what TalkTalk have advised.

Keep calm guys!
Just to make it clear, I do not have a BTOR engineer visit booked at the moment. I have decided to wait for a few days to see if the DLM does anything to improve the speed by itself.
Do you think I'm wasting my time?
I appreciate any help on this.

@Beanz Apologies, I knew that. I just got embroiled with the so-called OR guy talking rubbish. At least you know what to fear if they do turn up. They are not all like that to be fair, but many are given the reports you read on here.

No apologies required. I don't know either of you, so I'm not sure who to believe.
Anyway, back to the line sync speed. Is it worth waiting for DLM or am I wasting my time?
Does anyone have any experience of DLM ramping up the speed? If so, about how long did it take?
Thanks for any info.
