Fibre Speed Boost

Good afternoon,

I have purchased the Fibre Speed Boost (about three weeks ago), but I haven't seen any improvement in my download speed.

Speed tests consistently return download speeds of around 38mbps, which is what I was getting prior to the boost being added, although I believe I was told I could get up to 72mbps (I do understand that this is a maximum figure and unlikely to be achieved).

Is there anything that can be done to see if I can achieve higher speeds than 38mbps, as if it is not possible, then the boost isn't worth keeping.

Many thanks

Hi Larry

Were any other devices in use and connected at the time of the speed test?

Thanks

Hi,

All done but not much improvement on the download speeds.

Now just over 14mbps

Hi Larry

Thanks for your reply.

Your line is in sync at 62.8mb. Please can you power down your router for a full 30 minutes and then run a wired speed test following this?

Thanks

Hi Debbie,

Latest router is now plugged in as requested.

I have run a couple of speed checks, but assume it will take a while to get up to speed as these came out at around 12mbps, and roughly the same for upload speed?

Hi Larry

Our Network Team have asked if you could connect the latest router that was sent to you?

Thanks

Hi Michelle,

Yes I ran a number of speed tests, and when it was only the desktop PC connected via cable, it was very marginally quicker but nothing significant

Hi Larry,

Could I just clarify, the throughput speed is exactly the same when running the speed tests using the wired PC and with all other wireless devices removed?

Thanks

Hi Debbie,

I have just run various speed checks, with all normal set up, one with the Wi Fi extender unplugged, then another using a different yellow cable and they all come out roughly the same (approx. 28mbps).

On my router dashboard, it says my current download speed is 69.2 mbps.

There were only four devices connected at time of running the checks, and they included the desktop PC I ran the check on, and the Wi Fi Hub, so not over crowded.

Regards
