Since Tuesday I noticed that one of my sites I frequently use suddenly gives me this error "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" . Upon googleing it, answers did come back but after trying the solutions mentioned problem still presisted. So I tried the website on different pc, laptop and mobile phone. No luck, so I tried it on my mobile phone but with mobile data instead of wifi and it worked. Conclusion home broadband!! So I reset the router, no change.
Contacted tech support no help other than we will escalate it.
Now whats really annoying me now, is that I get the same error message is coming up on loading Fortnite on PC and PS4 keeps re-trying to connect to server.
Also now all my settings are gone for home safe and it wont let me save my settings or let me turn it on.emoticon.sadtears.title

The error message ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR error indicates that the browser is not able to initiate the secured communication at the moment. It's almost impossible to pin it down to a single cause, it could be almost anything. There is no definite guide for managing this error. However, there are few changes or settings which help you to get rid you of this error.
Configure Correct Date and Time
Clear Browsing Data
Clear Your SSL State
Disable QUIC Protocol of Chrome
Disable your Internet Browser Extensions
Adjust Your Internet Security and Privacy Level
Remove your system's hosts file
Check Your Antivirus Settings
Check Your Firewall

If you start your own thread (new message), we’d love to help.
We’ve found that posting in someone else’s conversation makes it harder to follow when looking for an answer.

I have been having the same problem with this error for the last few months. Every Monday at 00:00 it automatically disconnects my internet and every webpage has the ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR regardless of browser.
I have tried turning my modem on and off for 20 mins, cleared all my browsers caches, checked they are all updated to the latest versions.
I opened a non-secure website and it opened a strange white page with a grey expanding box and that was it.
I have called and used the chat facility during the day but all I am ever told is to restart the modem. Seeing as the problem only occurs at midnight it is impossible to get someone to help me in real time.
I await your help.

I have asked one of TalkTalk's OCEs to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.
The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & limited cover on Bank Holidays). Alternatively, you can call the call centre or use online chat. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.
To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-
Personal Profile > Personal Information
Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.
I am not employed by TalkTalk, I'm just a customer. If my post has fixed the issue, please set Accept as Solution from the 3 dot menu.
