Hello, I got talktalk broadband 2 weeks ago and I was put on a stabilization period in which I had a constant 8mbps download speed with 16 mbps upload speed while when I checked my router the speed was gradually getting faster as the 2 weeks passed. Now the period is up and my router says I have a 55mbps download connection with 17mbps upload, I'm getting the promised upload speed but my download is 8mbps at the moment. Can someone please help me with my problem. Below are my DSL information.

Ok, if you just reboot then the router will reconnect to the same session in the street cabinet. Switching off for over 30 minutes will get you a new session in the street cabinet.

The type of problem you have (normal sync speeds, normal 'upload' throughput, but slow 'download' throughput) can often be fixed by the +30 minute shutdown, so would be well worth giving it a try. If that still doesn't fix it the staff here will be back tomorrow to help further.

Have you tried switching the router off for over 30 minutes, this will ensure you get a new session when you switch it back on, this can often get the throughput speed up to something much closer to the sync speed.

I'm using wi-fi however I have done speedtests on multiple devices, the speed doesn't change whether I'm upstairs or right next to the router

Hi

All tests are clear and not seeing any errors on the line.

Are you testing the download speed with a direct wired connection or are you connected via WiFi ?

Thanks

Karl.

Hi

Can you please add your home phone number or Account number to your Community Profile.

We will not attempt to call you, this is so we can locate your account and run tests on your line if you are reporting a fault.

We will then reply via this thread in our Community with any further advice or next steps.

If unsure of your phone number, and if your line is working simply dial 17070 from your land line phone and this will confirm the number for you.  Alternatively these details can be found within My Account online or may be on the heading of any paperwork you have received.

Please post back on this thread when this has been done.

Thanks

Karl.
