I’ve been offered an upgrade to fibre 65 from faster fibre after apparently some work locally to upgrade things.
I think we do struggle a bit due to the number of devices connected to our broadband.
Will fibre 65 make a big difference? Would we also need a new router?

Well best to check before committing to anything. Contact customer services by calling 0345 172 0046, or try Live chat here.
They are obliged to advise you of the speed range which would apply to your actual line along with a guaranteed minimum speed. Make sure you specifically ask for those, don't be seduced by any talk of "up to," or "average."

Any "work locally" is unlikely to change anything in speed terms. It will only be worthwhile upgrading if your current service is capable of much above 40Mbps, were you given any speed indications with this upgrade offer?
