Losing Internet Connection.

I keep losing my internet connection.

When I try to go on line, sometimes I get a window up saying I have no connection. Other times, a window comes up - Windows Network Diagnostics. Wifi doesn't have a valid IP configuration.

I do not have a clue what that means.

I have done your checks, and result was that speed etc. are good.

Sometimes things are running smoothly when I am on a web site. Then I want to change to another site, but I get the - no internet connection window.

Almost new router.

Windows 10.

Thank you, Ferguson.

Michelle, I have a tablet. That does not have the problem.

I have now moved the router from behind my tv - where your engineers had sited it, and put it on my fireplace. This seems to have helped. The computer is in the next room, and now just has one wall between it, and the router, instead of a wall and a chimney breast.

The cables are not long enough to go any further.

I will see how things go now.

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line which hasn't detected a fault and the connection looks stable. Are you connected via wireless? Are you able to connect on a different device?

You have posted in the Lounge area, so this is likely to have been missed. I have moved it to the Fibre area now, assuming that is the service you have and flagged it up to the support team for you.
