Moving home- why have I been given an engineer appointment?

I moved flat this week and took my wifi router with me (fibre 35)- there's a BT socket for me to plug it into in my new flat and I never needed any other work done at my last flat- I just had to plug it into the socket.

 

I've been told my go live date is a week from now and that they'll send an engineer- I don't understand why this is as I already have a router and the right kind of socket to plug it into.

 

Has anyone else had this issue and managed to get an earlier go live date without waiting on an engineer coming out? I need wifi to work from home before then!

The engineer will need to activate the line/connection on your Go Live Date.
