Multiple, random dropouts of service. Logs provided.

Hello.

Since Joining Talk Talk I have had daily dropouts of service, sometimes 4 or 5, sometimes many more. Basically, the hub flashes orange for 2mins, I lose all connection and it's getting annoying (mid stream of a TV program for example). More so this is affecting home security as I have wifi enabled security cameras and an alarm system in my house.

Doing some basic Google searches and looking on this forum I see its a common thing to happen.

Here is a snap of my total logs when this happens. The time it happens is linked with the following "warning" :

The WAN DHCP client process has successfully been terminated on Vlan 36

I've checked multiple times my Vlan is set to 101 as per a residential address.

Here are my logs only showing warnings and higher. Again the drop out of the service is when the "warning" messages appear. Those are 2 pretty good days, only a total of 10 dropouts between them!

I would like to resolve this issue so I may go back to times when I can stream on my TV without interruptions and also know that I am getting the service that I am paying for.

Any help?

However, I will be away with work until Friday so will be unable to note the disconnects and as I have said these seem to happen more when the internet is in use.

Hi Kurtlee

Thank you. Would it be ok to leave the router in this set up for 24hrs to see if the connection still drops?

Hi Kurtlee

Thanks for the photo of your master socket.

This should have a test socket underneath the lower section of the face plate. Would it be possible to connect the router at the test socket using a micro filter?

Thanks

It is connected to my "BT Openreach" socket. I am unaware of a "test" socket in the house.

Hi Kurtlee

Apologies for this.

Is the replacement router currently connected at the test socket? I can then pass this fault over to our Network Team for investigation.

Thanks

Hello,

After installing the new router I'm still having the same issues as you can see, this log is just from today (9hrs ish in total) and already 4 disconnects.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Yes please as id like to get this sorted sooner than later and having viewed many threads with similar issues it seems to be a long process.

I can send a replacement router for testing to see how the connection compares. Would you like me to arrange this?

The line when not in use IE when I am at work and no one is home only drops maybe once every day or so and this is usually when something like my CCTV uploads to the cloud. This is why it will appear to be stabilising, no one has been home to use the internet for the last 3-4 days.

Once I am home and begin using electronics (TV, PC etc) on the internet it starts to drop out. This morning I have woken up, had an email on my phone to inform me of your reply. 45 seconds into browsing and when I began to reply to this email the connection drops.

As stated before the connection drops with use. When not in use it is fairly stable.

This affects both wired and wireless. The router appears to go through the process as if you have just turned it on, orange light solid, then begins to flash, reconnects and goes green.

One other thing I have now noted is that there has been no log update on my router since the last log I post. No matter what I do I cannot create new logs via resets, it is also no longer logging resets and dropouts as before.
