Cannot get the New talktalk router to work on a Windows 7 PC. It works fine on a Windows 10 pc plus laptop and two phones. Help please.

@Chase10  You could always set up the old router as an access point specifically for the antique PC.

All you need is to tweak a few settings and connect it via LAN cable to the new router.

I have done this with an older HG633 connected to a new HUB so that I can use the USB connected backup drive over WiFi.

Thanks martswain. Looks like this New Router will not be any use to us on this old PC then. It worked ok on the older talktalk router and on a 3M one that we use when traveling . The PC is still working ok. Might be a time for a upgrade but we will see.

Cheers.

@Chase10  how are you connecting the troublesome PC to the router ?

If wireless, look for updated wireless adapter drivers from the manufacturer.

However, as Microsoft ended W7 support on 14/1/2020, almost 12 years ago, best of luck !
