I recently upgraded to Fibre 65 from the Faster Fibre plan and have found that may speeds have not increased.

I have tried a router reset but it had no effect.

Hi Leanne

The replacement router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Debbie

Yes please @Michelle-TalkTalk, hopefully that will help.

Hi leanne,

Ok, would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes to rule this out? We would also send a router returns bag so that one of the routers can be returned.

Thanks

Hi leanne,

Thanks for running the different speed tests. The wired results also look low based upon the current sync speed. Do you have any powerline adapters? Do you have a different router that you can test with?

Thanks

Hi leanne,

Would it be possible to run a wired speed test please so we can compare the results? It will also help us to locate it this is solely related to the wireless connection. We can then offer additional advice on this.

Thanks

Hi leanne,

I've run a test on the line which hasn't detected a fault. Just to confirm, are you running the speed tests wired or wireless?

Thanks

Those figures look very odd. Download speed seems to be very slow compared to the upload speed. I always thought that the old "Faster Fibre" and new Fibre35 were limited to 10Mbps upload (perhaps someone else can confirm?), unless you had the "speed boost" applied in which case:

1, I would have expected you to have a faster download speed previously.

2, "Upgrading" to Fibre65 should actually have no effect on speeds as it is just the new name for "Faster Fibre with speed boost"

Before: 33mbps & 18mbps
After: 23mbps & 18mbps
Was quoted 72.9mbps & 80mbps, with a guarantee of 67mbps.

Have switched the router off for over 30mins.

What speeds were you getting before the upgrade?

What predicted speed range and guaranteed minimum were you quoted when agreeing the new contract?

Did you switch the router off for a full 30 minutes before powering back on to ensure a new session was started at the cabinet equipment?

Looking at other posts, not sure if a line reset is necessary or if I need a new router?
