Problem with Firewall (WhatsApp, VPN, MS Teams...)

Good evening,

In line with several posts (for instance https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Broadband/VPN-WhatsApp-and-Firewall-Issues/m-p/2883508#M836849), I have been experiencing issues with my broadband for the last week or so. In particular:

- WhatsApp takes a long time to connect, and I am unable to have a video call with anybody

- Similarly, video calls in Microsoft Teams fails to complete.

- The VPN to connect to my company has to fallback to a degraded mode in order to connect

- a few other applications fails to initiate connections.

As mentioned on the other topic, I can fix those issues by selecting the "Medium" level in the Firewall settings, but that makes me quite nervous.

The firmware version of my TalkTalk Wifi Hub is SG4K100136. WiFiHub

Thanks.

Jonathan

Thank you!

I have tested the main applications that were failing, and everything seems to work fine now, much appreciated.

Thanks again

Jonathan

Hi @jon48,

For one of the TalkTalk Support Team on this community to be able to look into this you will need to update your community profile to include your name, landline telephone number that your TalkTalk service is provided on & an alternative contact number. This will allow them to identify you, and they will then be able to help.

Don't post any personal details in this thread, just add them to your community profile (only you and the TalkTalk Support Team on this community can see your profile details).

Then they will hopefully be able to respond to this post tomorrow.
