Recently moved into a new house and my internet speeds are much slower then my old house

Hello!

 

I have recently moved into a new house and am using the same service and router as my old one but my download speed is at about 2 mbps despite it being at about 43 mbps at my old home. What’s the issue here ?

 

Is it my new area? is it that we’re using a filter through a phone line now instead of directly plugging a broadband cable into the line like at the old house?

 

Would like to know what’s going on here and how to get my old speeds back!

Broadband speeds over the phone line vary inversely with the length of the line to either the exchange or the local fibre cabinet and are individual to the property.

 

What service are you now on at your new address ?

 

2 Mbps would suggest Fast Broadband rather than any sort of fibre connection.
