Should I of received a new router when upgrading to fibre 65?

I upgraded to fibre 65 around 25th Nov, up to the 28th Dec the broadband speeds had increased to high 40s from low 30s and then on the 28th the router suddenly started flashing amber. I tried resetting the router, trying the test socket with micro filter, and turning on/off. I also tried and brand new TalkTalk router which I have spare and had the same result, flashing amber.

After calling TalkTalk I am getting a new router today, although I'm not confident as when I upgraded to fibre 65 the agent said I have the most up to date model. All the TalkTalk online checks say there is an issue within my house, although I've had a text from TalkTalk saying that an engineer had been working on my line.

After a very frustrating week I'd like to ask the following:

Should I of received a new router for fibre 65?

What is the issue with my line if an engineer was working on it?

Who do I talk to about a partial refund for the month?

What is the next step in the new router doesn't work?

Thanks Adam.

Thanks Karl.

I’ve been home and tested the new router which hasn’t worked, I’ve called TalkTalk and have an engineer coming out tomorrow morning.

Hi

You are only offered a new router at upgrade if your existing router is not fibre compatible.

If the new router does not resolve the issue then the next option is to look towards an engineer for you.

Let me know as soon as the new router is tested so we can progress this for you.

Thanks
