Slow Router

The download speed out of my Huawei DG8041W router regularly drops from 35+mb/s to around 1 to 2 mb/s to both WiFi and cable  connected devices over a 12 hour period.

Rebooting the router restores the download speed to around 35 mb/s.

Throughout this period line speed in to the router remains around 36 to 38 mb/s.

Upload speed remains constant at 6 to 7 mb/s.

Doe's anyone have an answer to this problem?

Hi Jono5

I have ordered you a replacement router for testing, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Hello,

I've run a test on the line now which hasn't detected a fault and the sync speed looks consistent. If this happens when connected wired and the router reboot solves the speed issue then this usually indicates a possible issue with the router. Do you have an alternative router that you can test with please?

Thanks
