Talktalk 150 ( G.Fast ) High upload latency

Hello,

Today I had my Talktalk 150 line install ( G.Fast )

the engineer took few hour to install it as he was detecting few issues on the line but after few test all get sorted ( from his tablet )

 

I been running a speedtest on speedtest.net ( CLI ) and at the same time a ping test but I notice that when the line is quiet ( pre-test ) ping is almost stable  ( before I had a normal DSL that was reaching 79.9 mbps and ping were always stable to 8 ms with plusnet )

 

C:\Users\giuseppe.faro>ping 8.8.8.8 -n 20

Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=117
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=117

 

when the speedtest is running ( download ) the latency is still fine

but soon is starting the test for the upload this happen

...... from here the upload is completed ...

I been running this test while the engineer was here and he said that the line look perfect from his tablet ( no errors ) but it will take up-to 10 days to get stabilized.

 

I am confident that in 10 days the line will stabilize but im not really sure that the latency in upload will change much.....

Hi ciciox10,

 

Thank you. I've run a test on the line which has detected a possible voice fault. Are you experiencing any issues with the voice service such as noise on the line or no dial tone?

Hi

 

Can you please add your home phone number or Account number to your Community Profile so I can locate your details.

 

If unsure of your phone number, simply dial 17070 from your land line phone and this will confirm the number for you.
