Updating router firmware

Hi, the talktalk service centre states that I need to update the firmware on my router, but it doesn't give any help or guidance on how to do this. Can anyone help me update the firmware of my router?

 

Also my internet has been dropping out on a regular bases recently and when I had BT Openreach visit they said that that the line had been checked and was all working OK. They only other recommendation was to update the router. Is there a way to request a new router from Talktalk?

You can't update it yourself. It should have been happening automatically. 

 

Staff will help with both your questions, @dantheman191. They reply Monday to Friday and it can take a few days for them to reach new threads, particularly after the weekend.
