Upgrading was a mistake.

For the past year I've been paying monthly for Fibre 35 as I was unsure if my location would be long term. Now that I am settled, I decided to commit to talktalk as the service has been good and was offered to upgrade to Fibre 65. Paying a year upfront made econimical sense and the potential speed increase would have been nice but wasn't my main concern. 


I've now been on Fibre 65 for 3 weeks, my internet speed is almost half the speed it was prior to upgrading (nothing on the connection has changed) I feel I'm in the unfortunate position that talktalk can use that I am above 'minimum guarenteed speed' to turn a blind eye this issue.


I left a review on Trustpilot and was asked to contact via Facebook or Twitter which I don't own, so I have created an account here. Has anyone else experienced throttled speeds after commiting to a new contract?

Have you turned the router off for a minimum of 30 mins?


If that does not solve the problem, please can you elaborate by answering these few questions:-

1. What make/model of router do you have (if this is a TalkTalk router, these details will be on a label on the rear or underside of it)?
2. If you log on to the router, what is the speed measure by the router (in the WiFi Hubs this is in the initial dashboard)?

3. What was the minimum speed quoted by TalkTalk?

4. If you have any wired connections, are they affected in the same way as wireless ones?
