What download speeds should i be getting?

Hello everyone.

 

I am on the faster fibre 150mpbs and on steam when downloading i get around 18mbps when downloading, i have an ethernet plugged in to the PC, is that normal or should i be getting more? Thanks.

Are you perhaps mixing up your bits with your bytes? 1 megabyte of data downloads at 8 megabits a second, so 18 MB times 8 would equal 144 Mbps, which looks about right.

Use the Service Centre to check  (via Service Status in the forum menu), @ashleyrm92.

 

You should see your minimum and maximum expected speeds in there.

Go via your avatar/name; settings; launch profile wizard; make sure you put in your landline phone number and a fallback mobile phone number; click finish to save.
