Hi guys, I have a sagemcom-fast 5364 router and need to open and forward port 8000 to a dvr on my network.Can anyone tell me how to do this please..Many thanks in advance.vicka1949.

First, allocate your DVR a DHCP reserved IP address, this is done via:-

 

Dashboard > Manage my devices > Manage advanced settings

Click on the device in question & use the Device Info tab.

 

Then use the Port Forwarding tab for that device. Then set up a rule like this:-

 

Customer Service Name: something unique e.g. DVR

Service: Other

External Host: leave this field blank or insert an asterisk character (*)

Internal Host: this should already be set to the IP address of your DVR.

Protocol: TCP (I assume that this is TCP & not UDP - that is down to you to find out).

External Port: 8000

Internal Port: 8000

 

Click Apply.

 

You should consider the use of a DDNS provider.
