talk talk wifi router (sagemcom)

synology ds120j

i need https connection to the nas using https eg https//nasname.synology.me:5001

it is all set up including port forwarding and my friend tested and can connect no problem

if i try to connect while on the same network either wifi of cable it is unreachable both on pc and phone

if i disconnect phones wifi and use the data it connects to the nas no problem

any ideas how to make this work when on the same network? aim is to play music from nas to alexa but it needs https access via local network wifi.

thanks

It will never work specifying the address as your DDNS domain when connected local as the router blocks loopback traffic instead use the NAS's 192.168.1.x:5001, where x is the last byte of the NAS's IP address.
