useless support, connection resyncing

I've spent an hour on chat with IT support to no avail, and for the 3rd or 4th time.  All my wifi devices either lose sync with the router or the router re-syncs the fibre connection as everything goes off line randomly when there is a cable plugged into the phone socket of the micro filter. if i unplug the phone but leave the cable in, then the same happens.  the filter is built into the socket and is a talktalk specific one for fast connections.  Support are useless and tried to just sell me £80 repeaters despite having a good signal. leave a negative trustpilot and they seem to want to help ....
