I have just had my internet upgraded to Fibre 150 and the engineer installed a OpenReach modem supplying ethernet to the router TalkTalk sent, even though it appears that the TalkTalk router has a modem.

Can someone tell why I now have to have a seperate modem and router.

if you only wanted one box you could get yourself a 3rd party Modem/Router which has to be be g.fast ready and you would be ok

The TalkTalk Hub/router does not have a G-Fast modem that is necessary for the Fibre 150 broadband service.
