Today two representatives from BT Openreach came to my door and said the company was upgrading my street to full fibre from the partly copper wire based system I currently have in the next few weeks and there may be a bit of disruption. They had full ID so its not a scam!
I have just checked with the Openreach website putting in my postcode and according to them I already have full fibre!!
Yet according to my TalkTalk account and their website I don't have the facility for that in my street in Birmingham!
Currently I'm am on Fibre 35 and wouldn't mind full fibre and getting rid of the dreadful; copper wires!
Can somebody clarify this confusing situation?

@GEG64 You’re absolutely correct that your current copper-based connection will remain active until full fibre becomes available in your area and you choose to upgrade. There’s no risk of losing your existing service in the meantime.
Openreach’s target for completing the nationwide switch to full fibre is January 2027, but as you mentioned, this rollout can vary by location. Rural areas may take longer than major cities, and the timeline could shift. When full fibre becomes available through TalkTalk, we’ll notify you—typically by email or other communication—so you’ll have the option to upgrade at that time.

Hi @GEG64 You will get a notification from us when it is available in the area to upgrade, you can use the link provided from time to time to checks on your end as well, is there anything else we can assist you with?

Thanks Gliwmaeden2 (and nambuso-TT). I wasn't totally sure what they were talking about. It would be nice to get full fibre at some stage. Presumably the copper wire connection is retained until the option becomes available for full fibre otherwise I would lose my current connection completely!!
Brsk dug the pavement by me the year before last and fitted cabling and asked if I wanted to switch to them for full fibre but I decided to stick with TalkTalk until full fibre becomes available with them.
Openreach say on their website they are supposed to have completed switching from copper wire in the UK by January 2027 but if they've not completed switched in a big city like Birmingham yet then it will be ages before that's completed in more rural areas so I suspect they will go over the deadline!!!
I assume I will get an email or something from TalkTalk when this option is available.

Talktalk cannot make it available to you until it's agreed its own terms with Openreach, @GEG64.
It won't be offered at this stage.
These Openreach representatives were just warning you about disruption in the street or at the exchange while infrastructure is being installed. There may even be a temporary disruption to your own service.
Openreach is likely to have selected certain ISPs for an initial roll out in your area. Keep checking through Talktalk's own pages for when it becomes available at your specific address.
Sometimes Talktalk offers a free upgrade when they are particularly keen to get an area switched over.
