OpenReach N5 socket

Whizz Kid

I was gifted, by an OpenReach engineer an N5 socket to fit myself so as to be able to take talktalk Fibre.

It came with no instructions (OR people don't need them) so I made my own.

I realise it is a bit curt in places, but I get it.

I know nothing about BroadBand, but that does not stop me trying, and I am trying.

I would be very careful about suggesting people can change their box as legally, the incoming wire and the base plate (where is connects to the NTE) belongs to BTOR.  There is also the matter of 50v in that wire which might give someone a nasty shock, plus if anything goes wrong then BT will likely charge you for a fault.

You CAN legally fit an NTE box yourself as an extension, connected to the faceplate IDC connections.
