My landline is very noisey and crackles a lot.
Every so often the Internet also disconnects (and then reconnects shortly after).
Is there any way this can be checked for me?

I have found time to move the router today.
I have removed the front face plate on the master socket and plugged in a filter. The router and corded phone are directly plugged into that.
I will monitor the phone crackling and the Internet disconnections and update later this week.

Is the corded phone still connected at the moment?
When the noise returned did you try removing the router from the line?
The next step will be to arrange an Openreach engineer visit.

I got a very basic phone out of the loft and plugged it in. The line seemed fine for most of Monday. But this morning, just as I was updating this post, the Internet dropped out.
I picked up the phone and the line was dead. When it came back (about a minute later) it was back to being a bit crackly. Not as bad as it has been, but still noticeable.

I'm really sorry to hear this.
I've completed a line test which hasn't detected any faults - Line test is clear.
Have you tested with a different phone at the test socket, with the router removed from the line?
