Crackling on phone line

How on earth do you get talktalk to just check the landline, ours has been crackling for ages and can hardly hear people sometimes.  Have done all usual internal checks and still noisy.

 

Trying to get it sorted is hopeless!

Having the same issues with crackling on our line. Bought new phones and changed all cables internally. No better!!

How do you report a fault to talktalk?

Hi,

 

Can you please add your home phone number to your Community Profile so I can locate your details.

 

If unsure of your number, simply dial 17070 from your land line phone and this will confirm the number for you.

 

Please reply when this has been updated.

I've ran a couple of tests on the line and these are clear.

 

Have you tested an alternative handset to rule this out before we raise this for an engineer ?

Well the line is certainly not clear here!  Have used alternative handset, replaced batteries in phone, still can’t hear and people say call is breaking up!  So what is the next step if any!

A High resistance has been detected on the line, this may be causing the problems. 

 

I'll log this to our network to investigate.

After further testing our network team need access times and dates to arrange an engineer visit, can you read and understand the following Engineer charges help page you will need to agree to this to allow us to book this.

 

Then if you can send me via a Private message on the community with the best available dates and times for you, Monday to Friday, either AM (8am tilll 1pm) or PM (1pm till 6pm) for the visit we will book this.

Hi, will you now please arrange for engineer to call to perform tests, would prefer a pm appointment and trust no charges for this as have had all electrical equipment tested now and no faults found.

I have replied twice!!  Any day in the next two weeks between 1 & 6.

 

the red broadband light has been on more than off today, really fed up of this now.

Openreach have confirmed they now dont need access at this time, an engineer will be going out to the exchange in the next 48 hours. 

 

We can check the ticket on Friday.
