Home phone not working (no dial tone)

My landline has not been working for a a couple of weeks with no dial tone.

I have followed the recommended troubleshooting steps with no success, including purchasing a new phone.

around the same time as the phone stopped working, my internet became significantly slower.

I am an NHS doctor and need to be contactable when on call. WiFi calling on my mobile is unreliable and I need my landline as backup.

Hello,

 

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which has detected a possible fault so I've passed this over to Openreach to complete an external line investigation. If you don't hear any more in the next 48hrs then please let us know and we can re-check for an update on the fault for you.
