No Telephone

First Timer

Because of a network fault at Pimlico exchange my 84 year old Mother had no broadband and telephone on Saturday. Broadband reconnected late that day and is now working fine. But her telephone is still down. I have made several calls to report this and found the fault team to be totally useless. Firstly you can`t understand a word they are saying and secondly are just impossible to communicate and explain what the problem is. We now have a engineer booked not until Wednesday! Mother is 84 years old and relies on her home phone. She can`t use a mobile. She is very distressed this evening because she will have no landline for days when the fault is clearly not in her home but at the exchange. Talk Talk are a totally rubbish provider with a woeful technical team.

I have asked one of TalkTalk's OCEs to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & limited cover on Bank Holidays). Alternatively, you can call the call centre or use online chat. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

Personal Profile > Personal Information

Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

Really sorry to read about the problems your mother has, Unfortunately when it comes to engineer bookings we are at the mercy of Openreach's  booking calendar, The appointment will have been the 1st available booking.
